Tisbe holothuriae Humes, 1957

Tisbe holothuriae Humes, 1957 is a harpacticoid copepod species that was the subject of Phil's PhD Thesis "The development of Tisbe holothuriae as a live diet for larval flatfish”, competed at  Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK in 2004.

This ubiquitous little copepod proved to be highly nutritious. Significant improvements in growth rates and survival of larvae were observed when tisbe were  fed to Dover sole larvae and turbot larvae either as their main food, or as a dietary supplement.
